Ralph Klein vs Homeless
Thanks for the memories, Ralph...
Ahh...the Alberta Legislature...I guess we're all supposed to imagine as we're driving by, that within the walls of these 'Hallowed Halls', are super-intelligent politicians working feverishly at the business of good government.
Well, this is nonsense-there are idiots everywhere... I guarantee that if you were to walk in on a cabinet meeting, there would be at least one minister fast asleep with his face in his plate.
Anyway, the reason for this is simply to remind people that, through his actions and attitudes, Klein personifies the kind of bonehead politics that have gotten the human family into the deplorable state of affairs we find ourselves in today-holes in the ozone, air's not fit to breathe, oil-addiction that's grinding the planet into pollution, endless cycles of war, famine, institutional-corruptness, disease, drought-you know the littany-and the reality is most people on the planet are in a fairly miserable state. We have 8% of the population consuming 35% of the planet's oil and ready to blow everyone else off the map to keep it that way.
And leading the

perfect!!
People who think they're going to save the world by setting it on fire are clearly out of their minds, and we should keep this in mind when we consider the Ralph Kleins and Stephen Harpers of the world who shamelessly and publicly support the George Bushes on this planet.
There are far too many of these territorial apes on our planet-some with nuclear arsenals-and for the last sixty years they've been flipping coins to see who gets to set them off.
The following pages are a few of Klein's more 'memorable' moments-intended to provoke a little thought on the question of why we insist on electing this alcoholic moron to make self-serving decisions that pander to big business and the well-connected at our expense.
Homeless Ralph
To say that Ralph Klein's drunken, midnight foray into Edmonton's Herb Jamieson Center in the wee hours of December 11, 2001 was ill-advised, would be a conservative assessment of his ambivalent and uncaring attitude towards fellow human beings.
The 249-bed government-supported shelter for homeless men was treated to a 1AM visit by a visibly-intoxicated Premier Klein who, according to witnesses, began shouting and swearing at a group of the homeless. Slurring his words, Ralph yelled at them to get jobs, then threw some money on the floor and stormed out.
Provincial Tory spin-doctors made a feeble attempt to gloss over the incident-saying that Klein was not drunk and had stopped by the shelter 'out of the goodness of his heart' on his way home from a private dinner. Klein's chief-of-staff, Peter Elzinga, said that Klein had merely asked the men if they had jobs, and handed out some $70 to them.
Klein made a public apology for the commotion he caused at the shelter, but of course, denied he was drunk. He offered some lame excuse that his interest had been 'piqued by reports of a rise in the number of homeless in Edmonton.'
"The purpose of my visit was to chat with residents and find out what their situations are like...", he claimed.
The predominantly right-wing Alberta media treated the whole affair as little more than an embarrassment-one that might actually enhance the Premier's 'tell-it-like-it-is' reputation. Media here in Edmonton suggested that Klein's impromptu performance merely echoed the supposedly 'prevalent' attitude of disdain towards welfare recipients in Alberta; and Klein's handling of the situation might come across as a positive, rather than negative reflection of Klein.
That this bonehead politician gets off the hook so easily with this crap is ludicrous; and the fact that so many people vote for him is downright scary.
